General tree description

Cercis siliquastrum is a small tree that can reach heights of up to 12 metres. The leaves are broadly heart-shaped and up to 10cm in width. They come shortly after the flowers start to appear. These are in clusters, rosy-pink and pea-shaped. The fruits appear in July. They are purplish long flat pods, 12cm in length, that hang vertically.
